Grant Overview

Got an idea to inspire your community to get moving? Share it with us!

We encourage entries from schools, tertiary institutions, councils and community groups as well as culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Come up with a new project, partnership, product or process to make a difference.

Create an idea to meet the needs of your chosen community and make it easier for people to exercise.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Schools (primary and secondary), tertiary institutions (universities, TAFEs and colleges), and other organisations including councils and community groups e.g. residents’ groups, parents’ groups, environmental groups, sporting organisations, Scouts and Girl Guides, community centres, etc.
  • Community members/individuals (see requirements below).
  • Projects that were previously submitted and were not awarded a grant, but the project must have been substantially changed from the original idea. For example; a revised project originally deemed ineligible as it financially benefited the applicant by charging for participation may be resubmitted as the implementation plan has been amended to make the project free to the chosen community.
Merit Criteria

The application will be judged on how well the identified need has been articulated in the target group or community, and whether the barriers to being physically active have been identified.

Level of Funding: The Active Australia Innovation Challenge is awarding a $10,000 grant to up to eight winning ideas.
Submissions
